Fissure Before SealantFissure After Sealant
Fissure sealants are a preventative measure to protect teeth from decay in the un-brushable grooves. These deep grooves are mainly on the biting surfaces of pre-molars and molars. Grooves and pits can also form on the side of these teeth.

The sealant is a thin runny plastic coating that flows into the deep grooves and bonds on to

the tooth, sealing up a place that can’t be brushed or flossed.

Best of all sealants protect the teeth and cost much less than fillings.
